Welcome To Salt Supplier
Rock salt has been in short supply over the last two years; unprecedented snow fall has meant the majority of UK business owners and rock salt suppliers haven't stocked up on snow removal products until it's far too late.
SaltSupplier holds high volumes of stock, ranging from ice melt to salt spreaders to grit bins and more. Although we do our best to maintain high stock levels, it is recommended to plan ahead and buy your snow removal products in advance, as once the winter weather sets in, rock salt stocks deplete rapidly.

What's The Difference Between Rock Salt & Ice Melt
Rock salt is readily available and the product of choice for melting large volumes of snow cost effectively. When compared to ice melt, rocksalt is often preferred for melting through dense snow.
Ice melt works to a much lower temperature than rock salt; which has been an important feature over the last few years as temperatures have regularly dropped below the working temperature of rock salt. Rock salt is effective down to -5°C, whereas, ice melt has a fast acting melting action which works down to -15°C. The lowest temperature recorded in the UK is -26.4°C; a temperature this low will render both rock salt and ordinary ice melt ineffective, however, to combat such low temperatures we offer specialised exothermic ice melt which has been proven to work down to -29°C.
Due to the large size and structural strength of granular rock salt, it can only be applied through salt spreaders. The benefit of ice melt is that it can be applied through regular hand spreaders and fertiliser spreaders - which generally cost a fraction of the price of salt spreaders.
Ice melt is a much cleaner alternative to rock salt; it doesn't leave any residue and doesn't damage or stain carpets when walked inside. Additionally, ice melt is a low corrosion product, which is a much desired feature when melting ice around vehicles and other metal objects.
Ice melt can be applied at a much lower application rate than rock salt, which means less is needed to do the same task. Overall, both rock salt and ice melt have their own unique attributes that make them effective in different situations.
